Should MC's Jump On R&B Joints???

This has been in question for quite some time, and like everything else it all boils down to the paper. But speaking on principles, should MC's lace R&B joints? Some of 'em turn out dope i.e. Make It Last Forever w/ Nas...and a few others, but should they? I know I know thugs need love too, but really? Is it a violation of MC code (if you will) to jump on a R&B track, and start caking? Tell me what you think?

  1. My opinion is if you're true to it no. People who scream how they "live hip-hop!" are full of shit. You don't eat hip-hop, you don't sleep hip-hop. You CAN like other music and still be a real head. As long as the song is good why hate on an emcee for doing a joint with an R&B person? There are more bad than good colabos
Royce Da 5'9 & Willa Ford come to mind. But Mariah has some outstanding songs with Snoop, Nas & Jay Z. Jon B's R U Still Down? With Tupac is classic.

I won't front if I hear something I like, a good songs a good song. And as much as I love rap, there are times I want to cool out and listen to some R&B

  4. Hell no! I need to find that video clip when they asked that same question to SERCH!! and he straight up said "hell no, never". That was back when things were honest. Now everybody is bendin over backwards for a dime. It's a damn shame. I'm still waiting for the revolution to occur in Hip hop when some grimey ass shit kicks this girlie music in the ass and outta here. Just like what Nirvana did to the whole glam rock scene. That's what rap is now...glam rap...where is the rugged shit. And don't say 50..that's some acting bullshit...
